At their monthly meeting on Thursday, February 26, 2026, the Republican Committee of Arizona’s 9th Legislative district enthusiastically passed two Resolutions to endorse local candidates running for office in this year’s election.

Resolution to Endorse Brad Bettencourt, Promoting a Unified Republican Strategy A Resolution of the Legislative District 9 Republican Committee
WHEREAS, Brad Bettencourt is a lifelong registered Republican voter with a consistent record of supporting conservative principles, policies, and candidates; and
WHEREAS, for several years, Brad Bettencourt has lived in Legislative District 9 (LD9) and been an elected Precinct Committeeman faithfully serving voters and candidates in LD9; and
WHEREAS, Brad Bettencourt is currently the only candidate for State House who is an active and elected member of this Legislative District Republican Committee; and
WHEREAS, Brad Bettencourt demonstrated conservative leadership by successfully running for his homeowners’ association board when financial and governance reform were needed, and was subsequently elected by his fellow board members to serve as Board President; and
WHEREAS, Brad Bettencourt is a successful business owner of Bettencourt Investments, for which his leadership skills have been recognized by Arizona State University’s Sun Devil 100 Club for his demonstrated innovation, growth, and entrepreneurial spirit; and
WHEREAS, a Republican has not won the LD9 House or Senate seats since the creation of LD9 in 2022; and
WHEREAS, experienced Republican strategists and candidates who have been successful in similarly competitive districts have advised that disciplined unity and strategic consolidation behind a strong candidate significantly increase the likelihood of victory for LD9; and
WHEREAS, multiple recent Statements of Interest have been filed by individuals who only recently changed their voter registration to Republican; and
WHEREAS, maintaining the integrity of the Republican ballot and ensuring that nominees reflect long-standing commitment to Republican values is essential to voter trust and electoral success; and
WHEREAS, competitive districts that have multiple Republican candidates divide our resources and undermines a strategic single candidate approach that has proven effective elsewhere;
WHEREAS, voters in Legislative District 9 deserve a State Representative whose commitment to Republican values is established, visible, and grounded in service to this District;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Legislative District 9 Republican Committee endorses Brad Bettencourt as its preferred Republican candidate for the Arizona State House; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this endorsement reflects the Committee’s determination to secure Republican representation for Legislative District 9 in the 2026 election; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Committee affirms its commitment to a unified and strategic Republican effort in Legislative District 9 encourages voters to support Brad Bettencourt in the 2026 Primary and General elections.
